The University of Pittsburgh Center for Chemical Methodologies and Library Development (UPCMLD) invites applications for an Asistant or Associate Director. The successful candidate would hold the rank of Research Assistant or Associate Professor, a position outside the tenure stream. Major responsibilities will include supervision of a team of 4-6 BS/MS chemists, combinatorial library synthesis, maintenance of compound databases, and effective interaction with biological collaborators. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and substantial experience in organic synthesis. Major responsibilities will include close collaboration with the UPCMLD staff and associated research groups, combinatorial library synthesis, and effective interaction with biological collaborators. Candidates must have a recent PhD degree and substantial experience in organic synthesis. The role of the UPCMLD Fellow will be not only to propogate applications of UPCMLD methodology, but also to stimulate the adaptation of new methodologies to a library context. A stipulation of this NIH-sponsored appointment is that the Fellow returns to an academic laboratory for the further propagation of UPCMLD technology.
